Adding mulch to a garden represses weeds and retains moisture in the soil. Organic mulch like the woodchips and shredded bark we used will eventually break down, adding nutrients and organic matter to the soil.
Although most of the mulching was done by the Boy Scouts in December, there were a few areas that could benefit from more mulch.
